Can natural density of 100 grafts/cm2 (200 hairs) be achieved?

A very high to natural density can be achieved through repeated hair transplantation. Too aggressive harvesting in one operation is not recommended due to the risk of visible thinning of the donor-area. A step-wise approach allows the patient and the surgeon to monitor the developement in both recipient-area (progressive hair loss) and the donor-area. Escpecially young patients are adviced against a too ambitious approach as progressive hair loss and eventually lack of sufficient donor-hair may pose a serious problem. Please see age considerations for additional information.

The limiting factor preventing the patient from getting a near natural density is usually the availability of donor-hair.

Cosmetically speaking may not be required as lower densities at 40-50 follicles/cm2 would in most cases give a considerable result.
