Specialist in FUE Hair Transplantation - Dr. Mohammad Mazhar Hussain

FUE versus Strip - in pictures

Many potential strip-patients are informed that

  • "The scar will hardly be visible"
  • "Trico-closure has done away with the scar-issue"
  • "The scar will be like a fine pencil-line"
  • "Just 2-3 mm hair above the scar will cover it completely"

Well, in some few instances these statements may be true. However, from Dr. Hussain's experince strip-scar issues and potential problems are nearly always under-estimated by the clinic, their sales-team and surgeon.

When considering whether to go for a strip-surgery or a FUE-operation Dr. Hussain suggests that the following is considered:

With hair trimmed at say 1 mm a many year old strip-scar is visible even at 10 metres distance while even a one week old FUE donor-area is hardly noticeable at even .5 metres distance.

Ever heard of a FUE patient having repair work done on the "FUE scar" using the strip-method !
